Prayer for the middle east

As a ministry to Muslims, we always look into the spiritual impact during conflicts and wars in the Middle East.

War is ugly and messy, but so is oppression from Islamic ideologies, where death for the cause of Allah is honored more than life.

Let us pray for God to be glorified during this time in our words, actions, reactions, and prayers, and among the people groups and nations affected by this war.

Please join us in praying for the Middle East as millions are displaced by war and violence, and death tolls rise. First, in case you try to avoid the news, here are the main events we are referring to.

Events in the Middle East Christians should know about

The largest factor right now in the Middle East is the ongoing conflict between the United States and Israel against Iran. This conflict has led to spreading violence into Lebanon as Israel tries to take out key Islamic leaders in that country as well.

The US-Israel and Iran conflict:

  • In early 2026, coordinated strikes from the United States and Israel took out many core leaders of Iran, including Ayatollah Khamenei, the Shiite Regime’s head leader

  • As of April 2026, the three countries have continued targeted attacks against each other, including US military bases in the Middle East

Violence in Lebanon

  • Lebanese people are caught in the crossfire of the Iranian conflict, as Israel is striking against Hezbollah pockets within the country

  • Millions are displaced as they flee the regions that are under attack

A Christian response to war in the Middle East in 2026

How can Christians in the United States respond to a war that is thousands of miles away? Should we ignore it and hope the news moves on, or can we find a way to seek God’s will in it and pray for His will to be done?

Nothing happens unless God allows it. We must trust that God is still in control of what is happening in the Middle East, regardless of our opinions about what should or shouldn’t be done!

So what should we do as Christ followers? We can pray for the Middle East now, focusing on God’s sovereignty instead of the unrest the Enemy wants us to be swept into.

How to pray for the country of Iran in 2026

  • Pray for the new leaders to be godly, to bring rightful freedoms to their people, and to have peace with the countries in the region and the world.

  • For revival to sweep the land of Iran and cover its cities and villages, where countless knees will bow to the true God, and the Bible will be available for everyone.

  • That Iran would eventually become a beacon of Christ’s light to the nations through its people who worship Jesus.

You can learn more about Iran’s history in this post, where you’ll see how Islam has shaped this nation.

How to pray for the underground church in Iran in 2026

  • For protection, as persecution could increase, as many could be accused of aiding the enemies of Shiite Islam (Jews and Christians)

  • For courage to share Jesus with their families and loved ones, who may be more open to hearing about a loving God who promises eternal life in such a dangerous and unstable time.

  • For media ministries in Farsi and Arabic (including Glory TV) to reach hundreds of thousands of Iranians with a message of hope through Jesus Christ

How to pray for Israel in 2026

  • For Israel, as one of the least-reached countries of the world, to be open to the gospel. Only 30,000 of the Jews in Israel (over 7 million) profess Jesus as Lord.

How to pray for the Gulf countries in the Middle East

Glory TV’s contact center team has seen an influx of questions about death from Muslims messaging us. The Muslims in well-funded Gulf countries are afraid of the Iranian war reaching them, and for the first time are afraid of losing their lives. Now they are faced with the uncertainty Islam offers about the afterlife.

  • The Gulf countries, which are beginning to allow more freedoms for their people, for this freedom not to lead to more corruption and godlessness, but rather draw more people to Christ.

How to pray for Christ-followers and the United States

  • For God to replace any hatred in our hearts towards Muslims with His love,

  • To allow God’s peace to dwell deeply in our hearts, and not allow politics, or what we believe should or should not happen, to take over our thoughts during this time.

  • Let us pray for wisdom and direction for our leaders who God has allowed to be in power right now.

Let us remind ourselves that God is not surprised by what is happening. And whether this is His will or He is simply allowing this to happen, God is in control and He “always” brings life from death.

Bible Verses for prayer over the Middle East

When our words fall short, it is best to turn to God’s Word as a rock to lean on and pray.

“Let the name of God be blessed forever and ever,

For wisdom and power belong to Him.

It is He who changes the times and the epochs;

He removes kings and establishes kings;

He gives wisdom to wise men

And knowledge to men of understanding.” Daniel 2:20-21

“God is our refuge and strength,

A very present help in trouble.

Therefore we will not fear, though the earth should change

And though the mountains slip into the heart of the sea.” Psalm 46:1-2

First of all, then, I urge that entreaties and prayers, petitions and thanksgivings, be made on behalf of all men, for kings and all who are in authority, so that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and dignity."

Thank you for praying alongside Call of Love – may God’s will be done in our hearts, lives, and nations.
